LAUNDRY DAY

Does anyone ever find strange things in the rinse cycle at the laundromat? When I'm taking my clothes out I usually find a penny, a guitar pick or what's left of an old receipt.

I started putting these away in my coin purse and realized I had enough for a, you guessed it, CRAFT PROJECT!!!! Below is the little vignette I came up with.

My co-worker Brian suggested "Luxurious Laundry Life" as a name for this fantastic piece of art. Any offers?

VERY TACKY

So I love shopping at thrift stores and garage sales, which is why my apartment is looking more and more like a hoard. But I enjoy myself so it's sort of like saving money on therapy. Anyhow, I found this box of tacks for about sixty cents and thought I'd be able to use them as is or bling them out.

I hadn't had them longer than a week when this little outfit turned up at a local thrift store. It's a super snazzy dance costume with tons of diamonds! (Yes, I know they're rhinestones, but I can dream can't I.)

I carefully removed all the rhinestones from the costume, and pulled out every crafter's best friend, Krazy Glue!

The rhinestones were of various sizes, but there was more than enough that fit perfectly on the heads of my tacks.

It's not easy to see in the photo, but the rhinestones catch the light and twinkle on the cork board over my desk. I was so proud that I finally put my collection of mismatched earrings and buttons to good use.

I just used my Krazy Glue and attached thumbtacks to the backs. My office is now very blinged out. Take that Gypsy Sisters!
